just woundering how the front ends are holding up on our henry builts. mine has a bds leveling kit on it with 76,000 on it, with 295's, still tight over bumps. just wanted to know if there were ball joint or any other issues. i know this F250 is pretty heavy and the 350's even more. hear the ps have some front end rebuilds that are quite costly like $850-1500. any thoughts or reciepts.
The ball joints do go out on the SD and the Dodges quite a bit(Cant grease the damn things). Diesels are worse like you said for the weight reason. I have a V-10 and I just replaced mine at 99,000 on the ticker. About $450 at the local tire shop for MOOG parts. The new ones are greasable and I'm very happy with them. They did make one heck of a difference in the front end feel. I never thought mine were bad till I heard some clunking in the front when comming to a stop sign. I was able to pick my driver tire up 1/2 inch when jacked up off the ground though. Have a friend with a PSD and her's lasted 120,000. Shop guy says they usually go around 60-70K most of the time. Guess you just have to do some lifting and pushing every once in a while to check them. Good luck
62K, All 4 ball joints and drivers side bearing hub. I change the hub right away, but I am still waiting for adaptor tool from Ford to change ball joints. I will also replace pass side hub when I do the ball joints. If you ever have to change A hub make sure you get new mounting studs and nuts with it. This will save you time, trying to get the old ones out.
