I am helping my boss hook up his diesel ignition the correct way. Right now it has a manual switch for the glow plugs and he frequently burns them, being 8$ a Motorcraft glow plug this gets to be rather expensive and he has to plug in his truck on a 80* night like tonight. He has a glow plug control module but we have no diagram to properly install the wires on the terminals. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could could lead me to a diagram as his Chilton's manual doesent help a thing. Thanks a lot!
Is all the factory wiring and connnectors still intact? If so I will go look a mine (which is sitting in the back of the truck) and tell you what wires connect where.
Yes, all of the wires are in tact, the previous owners just bypassed the control module due to its earlier failure with Romex wire connected to a switch in the cab, then to the glow plug leads. We have a new International control unit. Everything looks good under there. I appreciate your help. Thanks
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Jul-02 AT 04:53 PM (EST)]I am going to assume that the new unit comes with the wires from the bootom of it already attached to there proper points if not let me know. Here is the rest.
Looking at the top of the unit when mounted in engine compartment.
