I am considering installing a Fumotovalve on my truck to make
oil changing easier and neater. I am reluctant though, due to the
fact that it appears that this valve may be a target of rocks or some other object hitting and breaking the valve off. I have a 94 F350 2WD. Has anyone had any experience with this product?
I have one on a 4x4 and it is safely tucked up behind the front axle. It takes a little longer to drain but I can change the oil while the engine is hot and not burn my armpit So far I am happy with it, it's been on there about 2 years and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
Well I like the fram one better (ugh did I say I like fram)
But they dont make one for the diesel. Even though their book says the sd-2 fits it dont. But i like the brass cap idea. I had the same concern about the fumotovalve (rocks etc)
As alanscott said, it's tucked up behind the front axle, and only extends about 1" lower than the original drain plug. You can drain the oil when it's screaming hot without burning yourself, and it never leaks. I'd recommend it to anyone.
