Howdy Yall,
I wuz wunderin' if ya could tell me why my transmission delays when I put it into Reverse before it kicks in to gear also after I changed the transmission filter and the gasket and changed the fluid my trany is leaking from the front of the transmission and the rear seal, I'm just thinkin' the seal is bad.
on my 88 f150 after i did my tranny fluid change on my i had the same problem with the front of the pan because i had stripped the hole out on the pass. side. dropped the pan and put in a heli coil and put the pan back in and striped the driver side corner. heli coil and no leaks now.
Ditto what Mark said. Choices to make are to live with it till it goes completely, or go ahead and do the rebuild now. I've had a delay going into reverse for over two years now and have just learned to live with it till she finally gives up for good. If you maintain the tranny properly, you could probably get a pretty long life out of it still.
Livin' wit it is probably what I'm gonna have to do considerin' I don't really have the money to rebuild it right now. But I do have to get the leaks fixed cuz Its loosin' fluid and thats not good.
