Good tranny for a '71 Ranchero

What is a good transmission for a '71 for ranchero that will fit it. Thanks.

Hi Welcome to the site!!

They take later model questions in the Ranchero forum.

As for a tranny, the C6 came stock behind the better motors in your '71.

Ok, what motor? Std or auto now? What do you want? What are you going to do with it? Maybe you need a modified Powerglide (I know I know, don't shoot me), or maybe you need a late model AOD type, or maybe you need a Lenco.

go with a C6 behind a 351 - 428
if you have a 302, you may have to use a C4
I have an FMX behind my 351, I would not use it - I recommend a C6
