I get tired of fishing for my leatherman and struggling to open it with one hand (my WAVE got stolen, so I'm back to the PST II). Since I have to cut a lot of boxes, I wanted something with a TiN coated blade (thats titanuim nitride) I just got it a few hours ago (24 hour gun stores here in MT)<! in case you need to kill a democrat, NOW!, I'm just jokin')>. Its a Gerber AR 3.0, and I paid $40 for it... pretty good deal, its a little small on the grips, but its got a good width to the grip, I'd like a little better finger guard, but the fierce thumb guard is adequate... I like having a pocket knife for cutting and a multi tool for when the truck doesn't cooperate. Anyone else have a favorite pocket knife they always carry? Mine was made in Taiwan, the others were made in China, figured I didn't want to support communist china, and since Taiwan has more englich speaking citizens than southern california, I figured it was close enough. I picked up a few Kershaws, but they were just too thin, and I didn't like the open grip, it was the Vapor and Vapor II.
Ah......Matt......it must be a slow night. I am working on a secret picture project and you are out buying knifes. I carry a small Buck. I have a couple of hunting knifes made in Finland that I have had for years. I pulled one out of it's holder one time when I was.....10 and ended up with two stitches. Cool on the 24 hour gunstores.
Yeah, it feels like it. I got the stitches with out any Novacane. A few years later when I was a passenger in a 54 Ford that knocked over a telephone pole. I needed a couple inside my lip. I told the doctor (same one), give me some Novacane.
I have a Kershaw that I carry now and then. I have a 3 1/2 in. Old Timer I keep in the truck. I have a 8 in. fixed blade hunting knife I carry when I go backpacking. And I have my dads old pocket knife he always carried with him, put away for safe keeping.
I had a real nice knife that I carried for 5 years then when I bought my current truck and was putting the tags on the back with the screwdriver blade.... I must have left it in the feild in my excitement to drive my new truck. I still miss that knife. all the others are not as good.
My favorite is a Schrade, made in the USA. Small, three inch blade, comes with a small laynard that clips to a belt or loop and easily comes off the laynard with a push of the button. Legal pretty much everywhere so you can just stick it in a pocket. I keep it as a backup with my needle compass.
