Question How does a Hydro Vac work?

Hey all, I have a '79 F600. It has the hydro vac under the passenger floor. I wondered if anyone knew anything about these? If so, let me know. I have several questions on it and I didn't want to bore everybody with a list. Thanks for any info. Brian

Find an old Motor's truck repair manual at the library or buy one online. Those manuals cover HD trucks but they are hard to find. They are the best resource I know for those trucks.

Basicly it uses hydralic pressure from the power steering pump to multiply the force from the brake pedal.

vacuum boosters use stored vacuum to help by pulling a diaphram towards the master cylinder. Hydro boost uses pressure to push against the master cylinder. Its used vehicles that are heavy, have low vacuum conditions or are diesel powered.
