If it only was driven that long, it couldn'tve done THAT much damage
But Id still make them give you the free oil change at least
But if I were you id have it put in writing that they drove it that far w/o oil and it could cause damage
An update. The dealer turned the incident over to their insurance company. The insurance company called and wants to view the truck to see if the engine was damaged.
I expect they will take it to a 3rd party shop for diagnostic tests. I have never delt with this type of thing before so time will tell. How are things in Arkansas. I am origionally from Hot Springs.

Arkansas is doing good. Move your butt back here
If they take it to a 3rd party shop. make sure they atleast remove a couple main bearings to check for damage.
They can't just "listen to it run"
and know it isnt hurt
have you tried calling ford yet to get their take on this whole problem? we had a problem with one of our trucks once that the local dealer caused, one call to ford and the problem was fixed.
How did you talk to Ford Motor Co. I called their customer relation # in the owners manuel and got no satisfaction at all. When I ask if they could refer me to a regional service rep they said I could only get that # through a dealer. The dealer that did the oil change says that # is not for my use and I should call the # in my manuel. My dealer says he has a different regional rep so he can not help me.
Ford motor Co seems completely unaccessable and I am finding that unexcusable. All my relatives are driving foreign cars and are laughing at me. Help me shut them up and get me a direct line to someone important at Ford
what city and state do you live in? my wifes uncle has worked for about five ford dealerships over the past twenty years. he knows alot of people at ford and can probably get me a number for your area. if he can't i'm shure some one here can.
I appreciate all help in getting these Ford numbers. The Ford dealership that messed up the oil change is in Durham North Carolina. The Ford Dealership that I purchased the truck from is located in Pittsboro, North Carolina. They are 30 miles away but have different Ford area reps????
The insurance people are sending an expert team to do a parking lot inspection of my truck engine. I am not thrilled about this diagnostic strategy. When they found out I have been driving the truck they asked why I had a claim if the truck is still drivable. When I told them it made a loud noise when pulling a boat they seemed surprised I was brave enough to pull with it. Does anyone have experience dealing with Universal Underwriters?
You should get an oil analysis right now. If there was any immediate damage to bearings or other internals, it should be suspended in the oil and easy to detect. May want to have the filter checked also.
It's obviously documented, since they're sending the insurance team, so you should have some leverage in obtaining an extension to any engine warranty, say an additional 36,000 at least.
I am calling the insurance company tomorrow and telling them I want a new engine in a crate or I am taking them or the dealership to court.
I am still not happy that there seems no good way to get help from Ford Motor Company in handling this dealer. If I lose the court case I will likely trade the truck in on a nissan titan. I liked all my fords but man am I disgusted with this whole situation. An American comany makes a superior product yet lets their dealerships run all over the customer.
