Tach Trouble

The other day my tach starting spinning like a top for several minutes, the engine ran fine, and still does, but idle seems about 500Rpm's higher.

What could this be????

the tach is a pice of junk. mine does the same thing, almost. works sometimes, don't other times.

So does mine - sometimes. Pull the dash apart and clean the contacts on the printed circuit board. It'll work after that (until they corrode again).
