Tach question

On a '81 351 C6.....Is the green wire on the coil, the signal for the tach?
It's a friends truck with intermittent tach failure and he's looking to trace wires.
Thanks in advance

Iirc, yes. Green ----> Neg. terminal ign. coil

edit: Never mind, thought you were asking about the tach itself. Doh!

The place were the tach connects on an 1981 is near the duraspark ignition module mounted on the left inner fender wheel. There is a 2 wire plug that branches off the 4 wire plug on the ignition module. Look for black and green wires, or something close to those colors.
So if you are tracing wires, I would start here.
