has anyone ever seen those whip antennas for pickups, that are for looks. they do not function for a cb, or any other radio. normally sit about 6" to a foot above the cab. anybody know where i can find em????? i wanted to get one in each front corner of my pickup.
not exactly imo. the way i remember it, alot of older pickups had them, and they looked real kickass with them on. kind of a quote unquote "redneck" look...in a sense. kinda have to know what i mean. i saw some musta been rubber ones on an 87 chevy...and i know for a fact they they werent functional. i just have no clue where they came from.
erg. u guys are making this alot more complicated than i was planning on. all i wanted to know is if anyone knows where to find them. dont care what anybody thinks, dont care if u think its gay, stupid, etc. i like it, i think they'd look cool, la ti da i want to find em. if ur not suposed to put stuff on ur truck thats not functional, y even put stickers on at all. like y bother puttin "Ford Racing", or "calvin **** on dodge", etc. there useless.
yes, a cb might be fun to have friends on, but i only have one other friend with a cb, and the others wouldnt bother. it would be collecting dust more than it would be being used...
Whatever you like man it's all good, you could pick up one that's functional because I've never heard of an unfunctional one before, they're pretty cheap. But a CB is a good thing to have anyways.
I have a functional 4 foot wire whip, on the passenger side by the cowl. It was $25 at a truckstop. You can get alot of cool things for your truck at a truck stop.
Ricer,
Get the CB just so you won't be a poser...It'll help you avoid tickets on the interstate if you'll stay tuned to Ch 19 and get traffic reports from our trucker friends. Of course, you may also here them saying how stupid your truck looks with dual rubber whips...but at least you'd be able to hear it!

Oh, so you are the guy .... I saw a guy in a Chebby pickup at the grocery store a couple of nights ago, that had 6 large white antennas, 4 on each corner if his truck and 2 up near the windshield. Looked disgusting, actually. But, that's just me. I was never a CB freak, so think it detracts more than dresses up.
Oh, yes....You can probably find them at any large truckstop.
I've never seen or heard of "Fake" CB Antennas being made. Just get the real thing. I can second the notion that they help out on the highway. You get all the traffic reports and you know where the "bears" are. I haven't had a CB in years.. but it's not a bad investment.
Check out my gallery - I've got 'em on my truck!! I like the redneck look and they work for now - while I'm saving up for my 5" stacks!! I got mine at a Radio Shack - they had all kinds of different brands and sizes in there - I went with K40's - lifetime warranty against breakage!!
