1998 Explorer Drivers side door lock failure

1998 Explorer Drivers side door lock failure

There has been a few posts on this but I am not clear on what to do. The Drivers side power door lock switch tested fine (when I swapped to passenger side) but it wont work at all where it is. Meter reveals no power to switch. Is there a relay somewhere or do I have to dig thru the door harness boot (which is a tight area) to find a short? And which wire might be the culprit? Im haveing the same problem with my 97 explorer. Ive ran a contnuity test on the lock switch and it seems ok. Ive taken the panel off and checked the wireing in the door . One thing you might try is cleaning the connector where the wireing harness from the chassy connects to the door . Ive tried that and still no luck. Any info on relays from anyone might be helpful, I bought my explorer used and no operators manual. Maybe in the power distribtion box?
