Re-attaching Emblems

I have always been taught that the only dumb questions are the ones we don't ask so here we go. My son recently bought aan 87 B2 4X4. Most of the emblems (Chrome stuff) have fallen off the body and now reside in the open storage compartment on the passengers side of the vehicle. Now for my question...... what is the best way to re-apply these critters. It is very apparant where they go because the outline of the previous and most likely ineffective adhesive is still there. Any Suggestions?

IVe had emblems fall off before, and i used some sort of 3M emblem glue. It can be found at any local auto parts.

emblem glue

I used some clear silicone sealer on some of my antiques and they have held over 10 years.
