Real life MPG of F250/F350 with 5.4L
I suppose so haha. That’s great mileage! I’m looking into a 6.7 right now
I've have 2 trucks, an 2006 F350, 3.73 Dually with a 8'wide, 12' long steel dump bed with 4' sides. It pulls a 14' trailer loaded with mowers and other lawn equipment. It can't get out of its own way. It averages about 5 mpg, we're gonna change out the rear gears to 4.56 at least to help pull the load better and maybe pick up a couple mpg.
The other truck is an 2006 F250 super cab 5.4 with a 3.73 rear. No towing usually, it averages about 11 when its running right which has been an issue lately.

I would like to find out what kind of overall gas mileage people are seeing with F250 and F350 trucks which have the 5.4L engine. We have all seen posts of people getting 22 mpg with these trucks. I am looking for honest answers and not the mpg that somebody gets going downhill with a tailwind while drafting a tractor trailer.
It seems to me that an F250 with a 5.4 should be getting an overall mileage of about 13 mpg. Since these trucks do not have EPA mileage estimates, we can form our own estimates from what we see here.
Thanks,
Ron
