Exhaust Question

I have a 85 F150 with 300 inline 6. I plan on putting daul exhaust with 2.25 in pipe on it and was wondering how loud a flowmaster 40 series would be and how it would sound. I have 1 of the 2 cats hollowed out.

I don't think you'll need duals on a 300 a single pipe will do fine. You might check out exhaustsoundclips.com for the sound, I think they have the 40 series on a 300 clip.

I want my 300 to have a deep V8 tone. will a 40 series flowmaster muffler and a single pipe be the best setup for that.

You'll never have that V8 tone because well, its not a V8. Low end will have a nice sound, but high rpm's lead towards the "ricer" sound.

cut the cats and keep it to 1.5" duals all the way back into the largest echo cans you can find. I did that to mine, even at high RPMS it didnt sound to bad, sounded friggin awesome up to 2.5K RPMS
