My '99 with 2 wheel ABS and 70k miles is squealing from the front at times, but not when the brakes are applied firmly!
It happened worst on turns, so I adjusted the wheel bearings which go rid of 90% of it. It will still squeal, however, when the brakes are applied lightly.
Do we have one of those metal scraper things on the pad that makes noise when the pads get thin?
The pads look like they have over 1/8 inch on them (the spec. limit) but it's hard to get a really good look at them.
Also, any preference for wheel bearing grease? I have some lithium based lying around, but hear that moly based is recommended.
It's time to pull the wheel off and inspect for metal contact between the rotor and the wear indicator on the brake pad. As for grease type, simply check your owners manual and buy what is recommended.
My ranger had a rock that was stuck on top of the brake pad that made a heck of a sound.
A tire centers tighten the lug nuts down with a impact wench and warped the rotor/s that makes a sound when braking round corners and now I have to machine the rotors, lug nuts should be tighten down with a torque wench.
