1990 F150 302 stall problem

1990 F150 302 stall problem
a guy i know is stumped by his truck. here are the symptoms.
1990 ford - F150 - 302 4 speed 2 wheel drive
Parts that were already replaced
computer
ignition module
pickup coil
ignition coil
distributor cap
rotor
plug wires
plugs
fuel pump relay
fuel pressure is 35-40 lbs
First start up in morning the truck will run 10 miles before shutting off. Then every 3-4 miles it will shut off. You have to let it set about 20 min. before it will start again. Then it will keep repeating the shut down every 3-4 miles.
Getting code 33 out of the computor which is a open EGR circuit. Disconnect circuit and the truck still runs the same way.
i dont know much about them gassers but i'm trying to help the guy out. i think the EGR code is a clue though. any ideas?

Probably the EGR is stuck open or malfunctioning.
Three options you have.
1. Clean the EGR and all holes/pipes that goes to the intake and the from the exhaust. Hardened carbons builds up in the holes/pipes and the EGR itself. Cleaning it might help.
2. Replace the EGR with another or get it from the junkyard.
3. Use an EGR block-off plate. This plate has the dimension of the EGR gasket but there are no holes for the EGR to allow the exhaust gases to the intake. The only holes on the EGR block-off plate are for the bolts to mount the EGR to the intake.
Three options you have.

I had a similar problem with my 89 f150, it was the tfi module that is located on the distributor, and has a sensor plug into it. Ifnothing else works, try replacing that, 30$ part.
