PEDAL PROBLEMS?

Coming to work this morning, while cruising about 40 mph,I went to accelerate and it was like the gas pedal wouldnt work. The truck was idling fine but would not accelerate,in gear or in park. The service engine soon light flashed on for a split sec. when this happened. After sitting on the side of the road for about 30 seconds, I put the truck in gear and it took off like normal. Came to work ,30 miles, with no more problems. Truck has 56,000 miles on it with no problems and still gets 23mpg on the hwy. Hope someone out there can help. Thanks.

PEDAL PROBLEMS?

From what I've learned here, it sounds like your throttle position sensor is starting to go. Since the PSD is a drive by wire system, the accelerator pedal just gives this sensor the input on how much fuel you are telling it.

PEDAL PROBLEMS?

I went through 3 gas peddle assemblies in a period of 4 months. Finally I think I have one that works though it went out once in the last 6 months. The other 3 were just plain bad. I seemed to notice that it would go bad when it was raining or cold/damp out. I have 2002 PSD. I think it could be a bad wire as well as a peddle assembly myself, but the tech thinks otherwise. We'll see who is right.
