House of the Dead was bad, no doubt about it. The new TCM wasn't as bad, I could at least sit through all of the new TCM, House of the Dead I got bored with and stopped watching. I did like House of 1000 Corpses, but I am also a fan of Rob Zombie's. At least you knew House of 1000 Corpses was not supossed to be an all together scary movie, many elements were taken from old horror films. It was intended as a take off on all the old horror flicks. And yes, Jessica Biel was the best part of the movie.
Jessica was the best part by far. I jumped when the little kid walked across the screen in the dark, other than that I never got scared. The part I hate most was when the guy got his leg cut off. It was sawed off like a hot knife through butter, then he bleeds for I dont know how long and should of been dead from blood lose. But no, he is then put on a hook and still lives after pulling himself up and dropping himself on it then her messing with him. How dang long does it take a man to bleed to death in horor movies now these days.
I am only 18 and i also think the original was better. The new one was ok i think .....worth watching, but the original was still better. I laughed when leatherface jumped thru the fence and cut his own leg...thats just hilarious. And new horror films the actors are just so dumb.....hey.lets run into a freezer...one way in...one way out...theres a good idea? dumb chicks in movies. Jessica is very fine tho
I saw this one in the theaters and personally thought it was horrible. The old ones are much better! They definitely could have made this one much better! I thought this one was funnier than it was scary....not good!
i love the massacre!!! I own the original, part 2, 3, and the new one. Parts 2 and 3 are not good movies in every sense of the word. HOWEVER, part 2 especially, has some of the funniest one-liners in a movie, EVER.
The original 1973 massacre is a masterpiece, and if you actually watch it, they don't show allot of the actual violence and blood, kind of a homage to the original phsycho movie. The new one isn't really a remake as allot of people keep saying. Really the only things that remain are Leatherface, the head-hammer shot, the meathook, based in 1973, the John Larraquette intro (yes the nightcourt guy was the voice in the new and '73 version), the loosely based Ed Gein stuff, and the girl getting away.
AWESOME MOVIES
Made me want to pack heat, everytime I was heading into the woods. They should use these as the anti-hitchhike movies.
