If you guys are like me, you use ebay to score deals on parts for our trucks. I just want to warn you not to buy anything from a seller dba rtg_racing. I paid for a steering column and brake booster in Feb. and still have not received merchandise. He claims it was a mistake with the shipping company. I gave him plenty of time to resolve the matter before I asked for my money back and to date I still have not recieved it despite promises to pay. Despite numerous emails he has stopped communications. FRAUD!! Based on his recent feedbacks I see that I am not his only victim. While he ripps off money from others it appears that he is still buying other merchandise with the money from his bogus listings!!! BEWARE!!!
Mr Willie
don't feel too bad, i got cheated on Ebay twice last year & now refuse to participate. My situations involved faulty software both times. The sellers were real jerks & thiefs, i lost my money. Ebay didn't do a thing to resolve things & the only satisfaction i got was to post negative feedback.
I resolved a situation with a merchant on my own. I tried everything through e-bay and seller to resolve with no solutions. I took it one step further hurting merchants future business and merchant shipped product to me overnite. If you have any ? on what I did contact me and I will let you know how to remedy any situation you have with seller. What I did I feel was pretty clever and worked getting seller to respond ASAP.
I know it is not a site for truck parts, but whenever I purchase electronics or books, video games...etc... I use half.com because they act as a middle-man in the transaction. I got stiffed on a cell phone (I paid and never received the phone or any communication from the "seller". I filed a fraud claim with E-bay and I got my money back The only down-side was it took about 6 weeks. But I'm glad it worked out for me and I flamed the guy on the feedback!

Seller never shipped product due to an address error on my part. I notified seller numerous times about address error and even phoned with no response. Forwarded them to ebay fraud with no resolve also. After waiting for something to happen I started contacting the ten highest bidders on products they currently had expiring each day and briefly telling them of my experience with merchant. You can contact ten per day and I let merchant know what I was doing and stated I would stop when they shipped product and also threatened to contact anyone who had left them negative feedback and tell them to do the same. Product was shipped next day overnight. I did this for about three days and probably had twenty people contacting me for more info. I wanted what I paid for and no one else seemed willing to help. This worked great and maybe I helped merchant be aware that it isn't right to rip people off.
Hi All!
As an ebay buyer and seller both, I must say so far, so good. In three plus years I have had one seller (in Texas) not send product - he claimed his bank could not cash a Canadian Postal International Money Order - he never sent the payment back nor did he send product. Thankfully I got my money back - Canada Post will put a trace on a Money Order after 30 or 60 days (I forget which) and they discovered it had not been cashed at all, so they refunded my Money Order - and the exchange rate was higher then when I got it, so I actually made a few dollars on the deal.
I have had about 5 Non-Paying Bidders - the most interesting one being an 11 year old kid (in Ottawa) who bought some sleds off of me without telling his folks. I believe 4 of 5 of my NPB are now no longer registered bidders.
Overall, I would say eBay has been a good experience - just play by the rules, check sellers and buyers feedback profiles and you should be ok. Also keep in mind that if you do have a problem with a transaction, ebay has a handy-dandy form you can fill out and request contact information, including a phone number to call the seller or buyer that you are involved with.
As a tip, you are always better to pay by Credit Card (say by PayPal) as Paypal provides buyer protection and so does your Credit Card company - if you don't get something you paid for, your credit card company can investigate and will refund your card should they find wrong doing.
If any one has any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will see what I can do to help.
I've been screwed once by a seller (sunshinemiami or mimi either way they aren't on ebay anymore). Shipped a computer tower and it arrived busted. Sent it back, never received a replacement, or refund. Contacted better business bureau here (CA) and there (FL). Since seller had a bogus addy they couldn't do nothing. However, if they had a good addy...they would've nailed him....at least that's what the bbb rep told me on the phone.
I recommend contacting the better business bureau, as the previously mentioned tactics are not looked upon favorably by ebay. Although they seem to work rather well
