lemme know when you make it through again... I heard you were driving for Werner... I'm sorry.... at least its not S.W.I.F.T. (Sure Wished I'd Finished Training)
You guys gotta plan stuff, Its difficult for me or Dick to do it.... somebody will need to stand up and offer their home or land as a place for recreation or drinking (same thing right?)
well i bought this house in town now ( IDIOT !!!!! ) so i dont have the room for an event in my back yard. i can barely have a BBQ here. and when the garage gets built i wont really have to mow anymore either lol. yeah matt i drive for werner, but i am the flatbed division, were a small group compared to the other werner employees. and werner stands for WE EMPLOY ROOKIES NO EXPERNICE REQUIRED. I been driving for 15 years now so i dont get much flack to whoevers name is on the sticker on the side of my truck. and yeah next time i come thru i will be sure to call checkers and see if your working. Then you may get to have a beer with the one true OPIEWAN !
If you guys want to plan a meet, let me know the particulars and I can help make arrangements if ya need the help. So... what's the status of getting your own Chapter? I haven't seen or heard a thing yet. If you do get your own chapter, which it sounds like you may.... you'd all best be thinking about a Chapter leader ASAP.
I'd invite everyone to my place, plenty of room, but quite a ways for most of you, but could ask about using the mud pits up to Mt Sterling, otherwise could see about get together at my parents or such, could get use of the fairgrounds in Marengo, a little better, but not for those out west, about the best central location is going to be Des Moines area.
Hey, how's the chapter setup going, or is it? It would appear to me that there is enough interest, just need to figure out the leadership and such, so what's on the agenda, and what needs to be done to get there?
We only have two people from Iowa in this current chapter. If you want to get an Iowa chapter started, you best be posting in other places to attract attention or you'll be stuck with us forever. It takes a minimum of 5 people to start a chapter according to da big guy. Right now, things appear to be a tad shy. Sheesh....we only have what...15 members here as it is?
As the admin develop this new system Im sure there will be better ways for the leaders to advertise the Chapters and email larger groups of people at once. We gotta give it all some time to come together and work.
Oh and there IS a Missouri Chapter already. I'm not suggesting you leave this chapter, cuz you can join any of them you want...the more the merrier. I thought this was about Iowa Chapterhood.
Heck..I'm in Northwest Montana... the plains has nothing to do with this section of the state...we are totally non plains here and on the other side of the Continental Divide, but I think I'll help keep the whole state in the Drifters.....even if only cuz we have the coolest chapter name. ( and logo to be)

Well, it's of no solid consequence to me if we split or not, I'm cool with staying as is. Isn't there plenty of members, or do most still have to join? As far as plains, I think many of us here in and around Iowa would like to know where the plains are, due to the fact I can't find them through the trees and bluffs, (I've always been told Iowa is flat, still think they were sleeping for 75% of the state....) But all the same, I was in South Dakota for the last 8 years, guess the High Plains will be in my blood from now on.... BTW, I am in the Missouri chapter too....
