If you were to add only the ACCUFAB you would feel a power increase. I have the belief that to add power the "system concept" is applied to the V10s. Short of a supercharger no one thing will add a tremendous amount of power. If you were to add several items you will have a greater improvement. Basically the sum of the parts is greater then the individual parts.
The OEM intake looks like a large opening, so the ACCUFAB installs easy and works well for power gains.
Heavy, if I added the Accufab to a stock, no mods V10 (Excursion), would I benefit from this add-on, or would I need more stuff to see a significant improvement?
Also, in looking at the BBK vs the Accufab, the BBK has two bores whereas the pictures of the Accufab for the cobra has a single large bore. I haven't looked at what I have on my stock V10 2002 Excursion yet, but have to wonder what that means for bolt on and hookup to existing intake pipe? Is the Accufab like stock and BBK needs a new pipe?
The picture of the TB you're looking at with 2 bores is not the TB for the V-10 application. It's common for advertisers to picture a part that's the most commonly sold, if I remember the dual bore TB most advertisers picture is for a small block chebbie.
An electric fan will help your hp quest, the TB and MAF will help, but only if you add some kind of air intake that will flow higher than the stock model. Look into K&N or someone who has a cold air kit before you add the TB and/or MAF or you will see very little gain in hp. The Banks Powerpak is a great kit and a great way to increase hp and tq, but they aint cheap, just the headers run anywhere from $800-$1500. The factory Y-pipe is very restrictive on the pick-ups, changing this out will help. You've got to get more cold air in, and then get that air out to increase hp, that's the only way. That and getting BACK some of your existing hp with electric water pumps, electric fans, etc. Good luck with your quest, Ken
I have the BBK twin 65mm, and it is a dual bore TB for the V-10. Search some of my old postings to find out what it takes to get the 65mm on. The butterflies on the 65 interfered with the intake plenum, so I put in a spacer with oversized bores to oblige them. Then there's the issue of the throttle cable. If you go with BBK, get the smaller one, and it should be a perfect fit, but I think you will still have the throttle linkage problem.
Thanks guys! I was not looking to go too deep. Figured that if a TB would give me more/quicker response and a little boost for the money, it would be a good thing to do. Also don't care to mess with the warranty too much either. Figured I could put the stocker back on if I had a problem in just a matter of minutes and they wouldn't know the difference.
Overall, I am impressed with the power and torque of this X, just wish it was a slight more responsive.
I have a friend checking for me to see what I can get on price/discount for the Accufab. If the deal is good enough, I might go that way. I have the K&N already, but don't notice any fuel mileage or power increase from the stock air filter. However, maybe it shines with a TB?
i installed this throttle body to my 2000 f250 v10. it is a direct bolt on even all cable connections went right together. this is the upgrade from the ctb 96-98. cool blue performance sold it to me for the same price. he had trouble getting the ctb. not sure of the mm size but its single blade oval at 1695 cfm. major power boost. already had aem brute force and superchip 1715. looking now for a 4" mass air. thinking pro m 95mm or a 4" universal. any info on theses?

Legally the only way a part can affect your warranty is if it's proven to have caused a malfunction, but it all depends on your dealer. If your engine blows up and you have a accessory throttle body and the dealer can prove, or believes that your throttle body caused the malfunction, you're in trouble. If you put chrome wheels on your truck and your engine blows they can't deny your warranty coverage, so it's a fine line to walk.
I've also noticed that there's a big difference between the V-10's, I don't know why it just seems to be. My bro-in-law has 3 V-10's and all of them are different, vastly different. My van V-10 will smoke all three of his trucks in a drag race. He borrowed my truck and couldn't believe it wasn't modified in some way.
