Does anyone know where on the internet, I can find TSB # 01-1-11??? I'm going to take my back window out tomorrow to fix it from leaking and i wanted to read up on how to do it right.
To do what they say in the TSB you'll have to go to your dealer for a gusset seal and a butyl seal. While you're there you could ask them to photocopy the TSB for you.
I've been searching the site for instructions on how to remove the window, and i can find that people say that they have posted it but i can't find it anywhere, and i can't email someone because i don't have enough post/been a meber long enough
As you may have seen in the other thread that is active on this issue, I fixed my leaking slider last fall using the gusset seal and TSB 01-1-11. It has held up so far. The TSB is pretty good and the gusset seal seams like it should work well unless you have a really bad crack in the frame. I recomend getting the gusset seal ($40-$50) and a copy of the TSB. To get the frame out you need to remove most of the interior moulding and the headliner to reveal the nuts that hold the frame in place. Be easy on the mouldings and don't force anything too hard. Start by removing the rear side mouldings on the drivers and passengers sides. On my supercab I had to remove the seat belt shoulder harness to get the mouldings out. You have to remove the front pass. and driver pilar mouldings also to get the headliner out. Once you remove the mouldings and the dome light the headliner will drop out. I also removed the back to the rear bench seat. With all of this removed the nuts that hold the frame in are all exposed and you just remove them with a wrench or socket. Then gently break the existing butyl seal between the frame and the cab and the entire frame will come out. Instal the gusset seal and the new butyl rope and put the frame back in, in reverse order. Go easy when you are tightening the nuts back up and alternate which ones you tighten next. It is not all that difficult, it propably took me 3 hours. So far no leaks.
