The software I use is called XBConnect. It's a free program downloadable and it just let's players host games and connect to each other's servers. Great program for a great game...

That would be 220X2. I'm pretty sure it would go faster if I had bought RAM with better numbers, such as Corsair. Live and learn I guess.

 

Mostly play UT2K4 and BF 1942. Can't wait for HL2 to come out.

XBConnect (www.xbconnect.com) is a free program that runs on your PC. The program sees your Xbox and will give the impression to your Xbox that it is on a local area network (LAN). So, you need to have your Xbox connected to your PC via a crossover cable, or by using a router.

Once XBConnect sees your Xbox, and all is good, here is what you need to know.

- All system link enabled games work on XBConnect. List of these games.
- If a game just has Xbox Live, but no system link option (ex. NBA2K3), then it will not work.
- Backups on DVD/HD work on XBConnect.
- Originals work on XBConnect.
- You do not need a modded Xbox to use XBConnect.
- XBConnect is not Xbox Live, so you will not get banned from Xbox Live by using XBConnect.
- If you have a Xbox Live communicator (voice headset), it will work too with XBConnect. But, newer games since Midnight Club 2, do not support this. Only games that have XBox Live and system link support this, too BTW. (Example, Xbox Live-less Halo does not)
- Broadband is very highly recommended for XBConnect. Dialup users are just too slow for XBConnect.
- XBConnect shows a listing of games that you can search by and host, but thats just there for help. Meaning, you can create a room under the listing of "Halo", but the game can be "Ghost Recon". The room names are there so people know what game people are playing.

Im too old and slow for most of them, but I like Ghost Recon and the Desert Siege pack for it and some of the Flight Sims are cool. And Quake III of course.. still old and slow enough for me. LOL Ut2K3 is alright too.

Hey Hommer, ever tried any of the RPG's? Never Winter Nights is one of the best I have played, and if you like thinking games I would try out one of the MYST games, working on the 4th one now. Absolutely fantastic

 

I used to play a good old fashion Mudd game online for years.. It was called Chalacyn. This was back in the day before you could play multi player with graphics. I still check in once in awhile, my characters are high level and can kick major butt!

I played Star Trek Voyager online for a while, new PC won't run the old game though... I guess I'll have to get the next version. I also did extreme paint ball online for awhile... Our dial-up just won't support most games now days, maybe we'll end up somewhere that has DSL soon.

 

i have only one game thats an old need for speed hot pursuit 2 raing game i play sometimes on my old omputer mosly i dont like playing video games eept on rainy days when theres nothng to do. id rather be outside doin somthin. anyone else have need for speed? its kinda stupid i guess but its a game that you dont get addited to to easilty and thats good for me.=)
