My drivers side door window doesn't work but the passenger side one does work from the drivers side. Is the switch shot or is there a little trick anybody knows of to fix it?
And If you can hear the motor run, then its the great little plastic gears inside the motor that Ford came up with. Why plastic i have no idea. All i know is that im about to have to replace three motors. Back window, passenger side window, and now driver side window is getting slow, lol.
tap the motor with a hammer lightly without hitting the glass and see if it frees it up and it will work for a very short period of time ( maybe 2-3 days ) but youd be better off buying a new motor or getting new brushes and rebuilding the motor.
to get the motor out, cut a bigger hole in the door if you have to, but dont break the glass. and drill out the rivits, without breaking the glass. hold on to the window and dont let it fall down because it will break; let it down easy. Then re-attach put the new motor in and bolt it in with lockwashers and screw goop so the nuts dont fall off. its pretty simple if you understand the basic (really basic) way mechanical stuff moves and works.
