If you are still under your 36K warranty check that option out. I had my rotors and pads replaced under the 36k warranty. Of course you may still have the same problem again in 20k. But it will get you back running smooth. The pads they replaced because they were all pitted. They normally don't replace pads under warranty. I lucked out..... I was going to get the ART rotors unitl I got the warranty work done. Next time it's ARTs for me.

I guess my opinion is biased (PFC Dist) but I will put the Performance Friction rotors up against any rotor on the market. I have seen several ART owners now complaining about the rotors once again after around 40 - 60k miles. Keep in mind the are deep freezing the same stock rotors that continue to warp. PFC supplies the major portion of nascar and several other venues with rotors and pads. If they can make rotors and pads to hold up to that kind of abuse then my truck at 80 is nothing. PFC uses the same materials in the Truck rotors as they do for their nascar rotors. The PFC rotors are not cheap but brakes are not something I want to risk. I run these on my Ex which I tow a scout trl and haul boyscouts on a weekly basis. Give me a call if you have any questions or go to the link for more info.

ART just freezes stock rotors?? So why do they say they machine them after you order them? Does performance friction supply rear rotors? If not what are you suppose to replace those with?

PFC does not make rr rotors. RR rotors do not tend to have the same problems. I do supply the PFC Z rated rr pads. Most my customers replace the frt rotors and pads all the way around with the Z rated pads.

They just have the rears turned then? Or is there another quality company one could use to replace the rears with?

If most are like myself, I just put the PFC pads on after scuffing the rotors a bit. My rrs were not warped so turning was not needed.

THEY ARE SMOOTH,QUIET & NO MORE BRAKE DUST USING THEIR PADS.
IF YOU PAY $ 300.00 FOR NEW ROTORS & PADS AT THE LOCAL PARTS HOUSE,& THEY STILL ARE JUNK.
YOU MIGHT AS WELL SPRING FOR $ 50.00 MORE & CALL DEAN @ ART & GET THE ART ROTORS.
FRONT ROTORS & PAD KIT IS $ 300.00.
REAR ROTORS & PAD KIT IS $ 300.00.
BUY BOTH KITS TOGETHER & THEY ARE $ 500.00.

Mr. Gilmore......where did you get a great price like that? Anymore at that price? Did you previously have the vibration so many of us talk about?

I went with the EGR Performance rotors. I think I may have paid $1500 for front and rears with extended brake lines. I have enjoyed piece of mind and a nice firm braking system. There are quite a few options out there, it is up to what you are willing to spend for your saftey.

I just changed the pads on my CC and had 60k miles on them, I do a lot of HYW but a lot with a camper, the pads were still in good shape I could have gone many more miles and I did a run out on the rotors and they were in great shape as well, I did not even need to resurface them.

Here are some tips, 1) torque, 155 ftlbs to 165 ftlbs of torque (if you use the lug wrench it is very easy to overtighten them) is all it needs more will warp the rotors. 2) when you rotate the tires make sure you clean the back of the rim where it meats the rotor, any rust or dirt can cause you to warp the rotor. 3) When you change pads you must remove the slide pins, clean them and use the proper lube. If you don't then the calipers can bind and put to much pressure on one side and warp the rotors. 4) After you get everything back on you need to bed the bads and heat cycle the rotors, most MFG's will have a procdure that they recomend.

If you have a shimmy in the front have the tires ballanced on the truck, I have seem rotors that were out of balance.
