i guess ive ben pretty lucky with my truck she has only left me twice and both of them were completely my fault. ive beat on my truck since i was twelve and it always fires right up. even when i blew up a piston (and ratsmoker can ateest to how fubared the piston was) it ran great and got me where i needed to go. i was moving from Shoshoni, Wy to Ft. Riley, Ks and i believe the piston let go in Cheyene, and it made it the whole way, (couldnt stop am in the Army and had to report in the next day).
but i will never get rid of it as i tel many people the most complex thing in my truck is in the center of the dash and tunes in the radio stations, the rest of it i can fix.
Well I did it. No, I didn't sell it, but I ordered a Holley 700cfm throttle body fuel injection system. I hope this resolves my problems. I'm just getting tired of screwing around with carburetors, only to have the problems resurface.
Now my problem is that it's backordered from Jegs.
fordeverpower: pull the valve covers and the rocker assembly and make sure you didn't bend any pushrods, mine was doing the same thing and I found out that the machine shop messed up the heads and four valves were seized causing four pushrods to bend, it had little to no power also and shook really bad.
