i decided to go a bit cheaper, and i am curious other peoples experiences with the following products. i want to go with th sony x-plode cd player, three 12" kicker comp's powered by three JBL 600 watt amps, and some x-plode speakers up front in the doors. does this sound good? if you haven't figured out by now i like bass that hits loww and hardd i could almost forget about the music and listen to bass but i have to hear it a little...lol
i would go with only a couple differnt brands. i use pioneer cd player and door speakers. for subs i got 2 rockford fostgate stange one 12's for $120 from crutchfield and i got a rockford 150s amp. it pounds and it loud for the inside of a truck. i might get a bigger amp later. if you need a sub box go to subbox.net. they got boxes for about anything. i got my box from there and its great.
i would stay away from the sony xplod products. theres alot better you can get for the same price. also maybe consider gettin better subs, maybe even comp vr's. those amps seem a little powerful for the comps.
I initially had a complete sony xplod system, it was good, but it didnt hit hard enough. and the 3way 6x9's were bassy, but they werent a full bass. Ive since upgraded to Phoenix gold, and then now up to an alpine type r 12 inch, with a rockford 600 amp. It hits far harder then my sonys and phoenix gold ever hit. As well for mid range I have infinity kappa 69's. Crystal clear, and a very tight tune to them. From comparing subs at best buy and futureshop, I wouldnt put money into a sony or pioneer system unless your just starting out.
And someone said earlier you can spend the same price on better stuff. He was right, my type r only cost 120. Sounds better, and hits harder. You just gotta look for deals. IT hits harder then my 2 12 inch phoenix golds which i spent 100 a peice on. Either way, its your decision. Dont get too excited, because It will probably get stolen. As did my sony system. but for cheap bass, a buddy has a full MTX system, mtx mono amp, vibrates so hard it broke the latch on his geo's trunk. If thats what your looking for, its cheap. But putting in an extra couple dollars gives you a tighter clearer response.
I will agree with the consensus of Pioneer or Eclipse cd deck....
these have good preamp output voltage (this is good for clean signal)
I would also consider MBQuart, Kicker, Alpine or Focal separates at each corner. I have also heard a few other companies that sound better but for the price, they aren't practical.
A 4 channel amp pushing the separates (Autotek 100wattx4ch street machine amplifier)
A single Autotek sub amp (1ohm stable) to push a 12 inch JL Audio or Aurasound subs.
This coupled with a 1 faad stiffening cap to help supply juice during musical peaks and you should have a kick butt sound system.
In the 12 years I have used Autotek amps....and installing them, I have NEVER had one come back, by way of poor workmanship/reliability or customer dissatisfaction.
you can find the cheapest Autotek pricing on www.thezeb.com
There are other with excellent info as well, the experience here is vast, so go to different places and "experience" the sound of speakers and choose to your liking.
