Visonik are cheap, offbrand subs that sound............cheap! Get some Image Dynamics IDMax subs or Elemental Designs subs. Way, Way, Way better bass and a TON more sound quality and durability.
I heard a car with 2 visonic 12"s in a ported box, it was unreal. It was a little neon and the whole roof/back window flexed about 2" up every time the bass hit. It was for competion, so he had fired about 3 of them already. If they were not abused too much, they should last a long time and be worth the money.
The only reason it was "unreal" is because they were going WAY beyond their capabilities and they'll do that for a while. The sound quality on those units are terrible though.
You can kinda compare what you heard to people that race circle track (dirt track). They'll comment on how well their motor is running for that heat race then something will let loose in the motor. Everybody says a motor runs its best before something blows. Sam way for subs.

That's what I said, it was a competion set up. If you pair them up with a decent amp, you'll get a good system at a low price. Everyone whats to drive around with high quality (high price) system, but not everone can afford it. I have 2 Hollywood 10"s that I got free. Before I heard them, I was thinking, no thanks Hollywood stuff is crap. But I heard them and they sound great, and you can't beat the price!
I suspect that an Adire Tempest 15" sub would defecate all over every one of those Crutchfield sub boxes from a great height. http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_aud...rs/tempest.htm
But, you'll have to build your own box.
