Overhead console breaking

Overhead console breaking
Anyone else had any problems with the overhead console in their 03-04 super duties? Both my sunglass holder and garage door opener holder hinges have snapped and the whole unit has to be replaced. Just curious if I am the only one having problems.

Yep. My garage door opener door has broken. My dealership is replacing it under warranty, so all is good. But it was the stupidist thing, I just opened the door to put in my garage door remote, and the damn door lock clip broke off! So, I was like, WTF? So I just opened it up and was going to super glue it back together when the stupid hinges broke...
Oh well, getting it replace on Saturday morning.... Big w00t to my dealership!!!

Yep, both of my doors broke at the hinges within 2 months of owning it. It's caused by over torqueing the screws that hold the hinges. I got the parts from Ford and replaced them myself. Now my doors swing freely. Before, both would stop at 45 degree angles until they eventually broke.

Yeah i think this is a problem that ford needs to address. If I drop 40 grand on a "Super Duty" truck, i expect to be able to open the sunglass holder without it falling off into my hand. Its a minor detail, but still ticks me off.
