I need to get some casting numbers ran, so I can identify what heads I have...I know how the C8AE thing works, to at least get the year of casting, but I have a set of oddball FE heads, with an early number(no, I don't have the number handy)....I used to have a set of 406 tri-power heads, and they did not have the C8AE-style casting number, it was something completely different. I think that one set of heads that are in my possession are duplicates of those 406 heads, or at least of similar year, as they have the same odd casting number, and huge intake ports, compared to other FE heads in the garage, and others I have seen. From what I remember, the 406 tri-power head was the first head used on the 427 (low-riser, but different casting number).
Anyway, due to lack of response, there must not be an online directory of casting numbers for FE's....other than the AACN site($$$ to get in there).
So, I will post the casting number when I can get the heads back to the house(I have them at work, cleaning them up), and see if I can generate a response.
Post your numbers here for the answer you seek. For it will come to you in an electrical form. LOL Seriously post your numbers here there is more than enough brain power here decifer them there head #'s.

yes, it's a rather ink-happy site .
It's pretty good as long as You are aware that there are some errors in it, I'd say mostly in the block section. And it's more or less impossible to id a block on the cast numbers only. But You know that
thats a nice site i made sure i added that to my favorites however yes i found some errors in it and i couldnt find my heads in it either but theres a lot of helpful info there, thanks for posting it Rob.
Okay...sorry for the delay...
I have one head...casting number:C4AE 6090G
The two oddballs: 2143 575, and an 8AF also on there..... a pair....there were some Canadian guys eyeballing this set rather hardcore when my friend had them at a swap meet.
The C4AE 6090G is a '64, '65 352/390 head, standard FE valve sizes, 71-74cc chambers.
Now on the two oddballs 2143 575, those are ’59 332 or 361 heads, both cast on June 10 1958, Ford was experimenting with a new numbering system but gave up on it. Those heads came out after the ’58 EDC/EDC-E and 2142 575 heads and just before the ’59 B9’s and then the C0’s, C1’s etc. They have the standard FE valve sizes but huge ports. Chambers ran from around 70-73cc. Back in the '60's the hardcore FE racers and builders like Holman-Moody loved to prep these heads with bigger valves, a little porting, adjustable rockers, etc. No wonder those Canadian guys were eyeballing ‘em over. And matching date codes, sweet!
Thank you...
I thought something odd with those heads...
The ports were approaching the same size as a set of medium-riser 427 heads I have access to...but small valve sizes.
The new owner of those heads will be rather happy to discover what he has found...
