I have the chance to buy a fe 390 to upgrade from my 360 to put in my 74 super camper special. I need to know if it is in fact a 390 fe, or a ft motor. It has casting numbers on the front driver side head , a reverse 105 , also, casting numbers on the block are starting with d4. I was told it was a 1961/315 hp motor from a t-bird., and also, it has 4 hole engine mount holes on the block. I thought fe motors were 2 hole in early 60's, then 3 hole after that. Wondering why it has 4 holes. Can anyone tell me what year/hp and type of engine this is?... a lot of people have different answers... I know about checking the stroke of an fe due to not knowing just by looking at it,..,.. and have driven in my friends truck that has this engine in it. It is a strong motor, and I don't think it's a 360,.. I've had 360's in trucks before and they don't pull like this.. and would love to put it in my truck, but am a little confused about what it exactly is.... I've heard the reverse 105,and the 4 hole mounts could make it a 391 ft motor, ... I need this cleared up for me... ( help me NumberDummy )... thanks.
