Cargo Light

How do you hook up a cargo light in a truck that did not come with one...like how does the switch hook and things like that. If anyone has a wiring diagram it would be helpful. Thanks

The harness runs from the Dome Light/Cargo Light to just behind left kick panel.
You will require the special harness.
I just can't remember if it runs along the top of the door then down to the kick panel or runs from the rear door post to the floor and under the sill plate to behind the kick panel.
It's been a while.

Mine runs same as door switch, then up and over door to rear of cab, follows same route as dome light.

You need the original harness to do it properly.

I got a cargo light and added it to my 69. It may not be original but I just spliced my cargo light into the dome light.

The cargo light feeds from one of those multi connectors to the left of the column behind the cluster. A wire then runs from the switch up the left windshield post and across to the light. Can't remember offhand if the ground wire runs with it or goes from the light down the left rear post to the same place the dome light ground does.
