The transmission on my early 99 died about 6 weeks ago at 76,000 miles. The dealer offered a remanufactured trans for slightly over $2800, however, I went the BTS route as I could not see putting in the same transmission that had failed prematurely. You're probably only looking at around $700 more for the BTS and then you won't have to worry about it anymore. I'm completely satisfied w/ my decision to do the BTS and it is really amazing the difference it makes. Brian is a top notch guy too.
Im going to put in another vote for BTS. It is awesome and you can explain how great the trans works until you drive one. My buddy with a 02 6speed wishes he had a auto so he could have a BTS
Just a nice, clean, sleeper "02", 4 x 2. (ask the driver of the "03" gasser Chebby who ate the median last night trying to keep up, I felt a little bad....hehehe..hit lots of steel poles.)
Thought about the Gallery thing but it includes your real name, etc. Don't want to do that unless I can modify and register as an alias.
E4OD DISCONNECTS-I just bought a 97 F-250 HD with a power stroke diesel. Truck has 175,500 miles on it. Truck is exceptionally clean and everything works fine except for a problem with the transmission. When you let off on the accelerator going down a hill or reducing speed, the transmission disconnects and rpms drop to near idle. Any opinions as to cause and possible solutions would be greatly appreciated. Snoopy 1.
