351M and C4

I have a 75 Torino with a 351M and a C4 Tranny? I thought the C6 would be the only tranny that fit the 351M???? Am I wrong?

Thanks,

the fmx was behind alot of 351c so it should fit the 351m as well. it is not as heavy duty as the c6 but it does have a little shorter first gear to get you out of the hole a little quicker

The 351c has a small block bolt pattern; the 351m has the big block pattern, so it wouldn't interchange there without a different bellhousing. A friend and me had this conversation just today, he has a Ranchero with a 400/C4. So I guess they are out there.

you are right on, i forgot they changed the bellhousing to the big block pattern on the newer 351m/400 motors. check out this site for the diffs in the 351c,351m/400 http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...1m/index.shtml

A lot of the Torino specifics are the same as the Ranchero. You may find more information in that forum.
