I think long hair depends on the individual and how they wear it. Some guys look OK with it while others look "trashy". I had long hair in the 80's (not too long) and now it is pretty much shaved. Much easier to care for.

Being 6'2", and coming in at about 250 lbs., if anyone had a problem with my long hair, they never said anything about it to my face!

I did get grief from my uncles though, they called me, "Pocahontas," and "Woah-Man" (woman). It was a phase, I'm happy with my short hair now, doesn't get in the way, takes less than 5 minutes to dry, even less to comb!

Yeah, I got long hair now. Mom didn't like it when I went home for spring break, but I figure I should grow it long while I can get away w/ it. No one seems to like 50 yr olds with long hair. And the chicks dig it. -BBB

I used to have hair down to the middle of my shoulder blades, but that was a long time ago. I have since grown fond of paying my bills and having a roof over my head.

Yeah, you are discriminated against. There's no two ways about it. The older you get, the less it matters.........and no...I'm not even close to having a bald spot. My dad and my brother took to the bald side of the family.

As for others having long hair, I think it all depends on the person. Some folks look alright and others look pathetic with long hair. If you want to be a professional though, you gotta keep it reasonably short, clean and well cared for. That's the bottom line.

A weeks worth of growth after a High and tight is as long as my hair has been in a loooooong time. Heck, that's about as long as it's allowed to be now days
I had a mullet back in the day when I was like 10 or something, but it was cool then That's the longes my hair has ever been, and it never even touched my shoulders.

From: Destin/Ft. Walton Beach,
I feel that if somebody wants to wear their hair long, and if they can, then they should. I do have one problem with it though. Many have done this, but few will fess up. More then once, I've seen a girl with purty long hair and a nice butt. Get alongside, and find out she's a he. Then it's like, "Durn guy ought to get his hair cut".

the vast majority of people are sheep they feel the world should be molded into this one kind of style and everyone else is wierd etc. i , for one dont necessarily agree.... sometimes i wear my hair real long ( been almost a year since i had a hair cut and its gettting long) sometimes i wear a long beard other times im clan shaven.. one year i went bald in a real bad summer. dont much matter to me what one looks like as long as ya aint got spikes and green hair that kinda stuff is a little too outside the box

I have had long hair for the last 8 years. Always short b4 then. I work on cars and houses alot and it really gets in the way. So why do I weat it long? In a word.....Women. I am single and many many women really dig it. Every time I think of cutting it, I remember all it has done for me (S-C-O-R-E!)

I have always had nonshort hair. I say it like that because its never really long but its not buzzed off. Right now its comes down past my neck in the back and down to my top lip in front. I cant imagine myself with short hair. Eveyone seems to like having it real short and get it cut every week or so. I usually go a few months between cuts. I get hell from my parents but not to bad. But Thursday I am going to get it cut down to about 3 inches because I am hoping to get a job working outside, and my aunt and uncle will be here in a few days and they wont like it. And I only care what they think about it because I am currently living off their dime.

I dont' understant why some of you guys said you were descriminated in the 60s and 70s. Didn't everyone have long hair back then? And some of you said it can interfere with your profession. I'm studying to be an auto mechanic. Would I have problems here?

You should have seen the fit my parents threw a few summers ago when I wanted to get blond highlights. My grandparents would never let me live that down and I did get A LOT of teasing from them about it!!
