On more recent thread, my K&N filter was discovered to be the culprit behind my turbo problems. With that in mind, I need to replace it with a paper filter. A Tymar or AFE intake would be even better, but I don't have the cash for that right now. What is the best paper filter that I can use?
You can make a homemade open element intake for real cheap. Some guys have done this for about $40 or less. If you're interested I'll post what you need.
I'm sure you want to get it in soon, but here's a link for Motorcraft filters for $13.44 for your application. Might as well be the factory paper filter if you aren't going to change the intake for now. You should be able to find a comperable price at autoparts stores I would think.
Thanks for the post johnsdiesel. Instead of going with a stock filter, I think I'll get a Tymar setup. With that in mind, tell me what I'll need in order to do this. In the long run, a tymar setup would prove to be more economical than a stock filter. Thanks in advance johnsdiesel
