Typically on a remote start, you push one button for a second, and it starts.
With a diesel, I believe there is a delay due to the glow plugs.

I am not familiar with the autopage, as I have a bulldog, but maybe you could get some info here: http://www.autopageusa.com/autopageproducts.htm

Or maybe someone will come along with the answers

I have a remote start on my 03. If your remote is factory and has four buttons, there should beone that is blue and with a "key icon". Press and hold the blue button untill the horn/alarm beeps two times (normally 4-6 seconds). Depending on how they programed it, it will take no less than 30 seconds and up to 2 minutes before it starts, but it will turn the ignigtion and glow plugs on right away. If that does not work, press both the "lock" and "unlock" icon button at the same time to take it out of vallet and they try the steps above again. Hope this helps.

Mine is programed to shut off at 10 mins in 2 situations, when I remote start and I don't turn the key within 10 mins or when I stop and hit the start key while the engine is running I can remove the key and walk away and the engine will shut off at 10 mins. I don't know what the range of time that the shut off can be programed for, I asked the installer for 10 (plus that is what he recomended. Good luck.

ZacHolley,

Can you tell us what is on the remote, I have a F-350 and I have the lock, unlock and a pic of a key and a stop sign on mine. When I installed this kind on a diesel, you hit the key button, and the remote start has a setting for like 10, 20 or 30 seconds before it will try to turn over. I think you may be doing the right thing, just give it 10 seconds and see if it cranks. The other thing is, mine the running lites on the truck go on as a confirmation that it has received the signal. Does you do anything of the kind?
Depending on the brand you have, you can set the pause time of the glow plug, auto shut off time, to start automatically if the outside temp get's below a certain degree. The brand name would help answer most of the questions you have.

I figured it out!, I just had to hold down the panic button and the ligts will come on then 30 seconds later it will usually try to start and fail then about 20 seconds later it will crank and then start.

so far so good I love it
