I have 3 remote key fobs and 2 factory keys that came with our Ex. One looks like a factory remote and has lock/unlock/panic buttons; the other two are Autopage remotes with lock/unlock/trunk/start and a smaller button labeled II in the middle. I am assuming they came with an aftermarket remote starter. The trunk button does nothing and I'm not sure what the II button is supposed to do.
What is strange is that if I put my wife's key in the ignition after using the remote starter the engine shuts off but if I put my key in the ignition it continues to run. Either key will start the engine. Any ideas what could be different?

Reason: Corrected title
I would guess there is a clone key for the PATs system that is taped under your steering column near the ignition switch. Without a PATS key near the ignition, the truck would not start with the remote starter. The clone matches your key PATS transponder radio frequency and does not match your wifes.
Note that having a clone key taped on the column for the remote start makes your Ex more suseptable to theft since anyone could bust the column and hot wire it.
Interesting. I'll have to look. I know there is something under the column that blinks blue. But wouldn't that make her key unable to start the vehicle?
