I have come to the conclusion that my factory air intake/filter is very restrictive(I'm a genious, you know!) I have looked around a bit and am not quite sure what is the best replacement. What is everybody on FTE using? What is the BEST? I want the best possible set up for my PSD. I don't want to be cheap, but I want to buy the one that gives the most bang for the buck. Anybody have any suggestions?
I have a AFE intake that i bought from the online store. I did notice a drop in E.G.T temps , and alittle more throttle response. I forgot what i paied for it. Allot of other people are using the Tymar intake , has a huge filter on it...Or you can just make your own with a filer and some tubing, which i will prob. end up doing.
I'm with you, John. I'd buy a TYMAR even if they were twice the price of a K&N, instead of half the price.

Another vote for TYMAR. You get a possitive seal with it so you know you aint gunna suck dirt in, You can check the filter for dirt with out opening any airbox, it's pretty cheep, and will provide you bout the most free flowing intake you can get with an air filter on. Click on my gallary or the link below and you can take a look at the setup. It would be the same for a 99+ truck.
I am about to check on a new air intake system for my truck when i go to the Lower 48 from ALaska. Everything here is so limited and then we pay TOP dollar for it. So while i am on Vacation, i am going to look for a decent air filter and intake. I am currently using a K&N for now, and i know all u all curse at that word, but it works for me now, it is only temporary!!!!!! hahaha Good Luck with your trucks.
