I just got a magizen that show how to decode the vin numbers and when i grab the title to decode my truck '77 f250 4x4 with the 400 i got it was a '77 f150 4x4 with a 300. so i got me wodering and i ran out to my truck and got the vin off of it and it was right it matched the truck but my title is all screwy any one have any ideas can i get it changed or what should i do.
Just take the title into the DMV and have it corrected. When you got the truck, you may have gotten the wrong title. My mother in law was transfering a car into the other halfs name and she grabbed the title to her car, it came back from the DMV all messed up. Had to take the correct title in and get the whole mess fixed. They should be able to run a history (at the main office) of both VIN's and find where the error occured. Good luck.
thanks for the info and sorry about taking so long to get back i got the vin off of the diverside door frame on that little tag im going to take it to the dmv as soon as i get it back together
Be aware in mid 77 there was a change to the the VIN format. I don't have mine in front of me but I think the last 6 digits changed from 6 numbers, to a letter and 5 numbers. 0 and O look a lot alike.
