No matter what, this door hinge bolt will not come off this 51.
So far
I broke two door hinge pullers trying to press it out
2. broke two Drill Bits
3. Broke a metal punch trying to hammer the hinge pin out
4. Used heat
5. Spread several days with penetrant
6. used Wax
7. Drilled
Nothing, nada, Zilch. It will not budge
I got all the hinge pins out except this one.
What the hell should I do? ALSO
once you get to hinges off to pull the door
how do you disengage that sliding middle peace.
Also who sells the hinges for the doors if i completely damage them.
This is frustrating. I can't beleive this small piece is giving me soo much hell.
I had a terrible time with mine too. I drilled from the bottom, after breaking off the first bit inside the hole, I drilled from the top. Try using about an 1/8" bit for starters, you can steer it a little. Drive out the broken bit when you get the hole drilled that far. Good luck on the hinge itself, I have never seen these in any catalogs, maybe a junkyard run for that part, I think they are welded on also. Jim, 49 f-3
Haha, I talked to the guy at bobsf100, and he told me they were a nightmare to pull. I ended up buying a set of used, but good hinges for $25 each.
I trusted him, and now Im glad I did.

I had my second one off in about 15 minutes. What I do is i first knock off the head with a chisel, then I center punch and use a centering drill (used on a lathe or mill like a stiffened up small drill bit). after that I found that my one and only cobalt 1/4 in drill bit had no problem drilling the pin from the top just enough to clear the first part of the hinge. then I took a drift punch they are a non tappered punch flat bottomed and I drive the pin down, the knurel(sp) portion will collapse and the pin came out easily. Before the pin was all the way out it was going to hit the sheetmetal so I took a cut off wheel and shortened the exposed portion and finished driving it through. Was a heck of a lot easier then the 2 weeks spent trying to get the small allen loose that holds the passenger door lock. Everyday penetrating and a little force with the allen till it was free.
