edit: we musta posted at the same time jeremy, I like your suggestion

Even though thats a spool in a box, not a locker

Yea, its no wonder guys get confused about it. It sure is called a "lincoln locker" even though its really a spool. Since I'm sure we're just adding to this guys confusion I'll clarify that a locker locks and unlocks while a spool is permenantly locked.

Now I'm just waiting for the "which is better for the street question

Oh.....no question.......spool!

I have seen plenty of cars running a spool....and it shoots them off the line pretty damn quick!

It also depends on the diff, and whether its front or rear as to which is the best . It also depents on whether you are running stock axles etc. . . .

It also depends on what you are wanting to do with the vehicle....driven on the street, rocks only, mostly mud, drag racing, whether or not you are going to install it yourself.....etc.

not really guys! i mean you can't beat a front and rear lincoln locker on the street, mud, rocks, sand, etc! it is the best for them all esp if you are running 1/2 ton drivetrain! it can take it, i promise.

What is best for street, a spool and racing slicks or a "lincoln" locker and 30" BFG AT tires? This is for a weekend mudbogger that will do some rock climbing . . .

For a weekend mudbogger that also sees rocks. A spool. Neither of those tires would be any good in the mud.

I may have missed sarcasm...can never tell anymore
