laptop converter ?
can anyone tell me if this will hook up any laptop harddrive to a desk top computer? if so would this be a good way to save data and rebuild/copy a drive?

I had two or three of them laying around, never used them and think I threw them on eBay during some housekeeping last year. You have to pull the laptop drive out to hook it up. Easier to get a copy of Norton Ghost and image the laptop's drive, burn a cd with that image, and make a boot disk to restore it. That way you never have to pull the drive out. Saving data--if you have another computer, get a couple network adapters (about $5-10 for the desktop, $15-20 for the laptop), or a USB external cd-rw (about $70). Ghost will work over network and to most newer cd-rws so that arrangement you could back stuff up however you wanted to--either imaging or just copying files over.
