tire warning

here's the deal. I was lookin' on ebay at a set of 35" BFG Mud on 15x10 aluminum for $640 that would fit my rig. The seller claimed they were in great condition with about 50% tread. So we proceeded to find out more about them through emails, and not once did he say if the tires were worn bad, or had any signs of bad maintenance. My anniversary was coming up and to make a long story short, my wife bought them for me without me knowing. When the tires/wheels arrived, they were wrapped up nice, but defintely had some signs of uneven wear. I didn't think anything of it (having owned various brands and sizes of tires), and figured they would probably be fine. I went to get an alignment, a re-balance, and some different lug nuts. After it was over, I hopped on the freeway and proceeded to go home. I tell ya, I got SCREWED! I'd bought used tires before, but none were ever this bad. It felt like I was in a jet airliner with extreme turbulence! Now, I know these are 35's, but they're BFGs, one of the better tires out here. One tire alone took 16 ounces to balance. I'm thinking there might be some internal belt separation. Just throwing caution to the wind on buying used tires off ebay

If the wheels are in good shape...you might want to trade those used 35's for new 35's. Several tire places will buy your tires...on a trade in. If they indeed have 50% tread left...you could get a good deal.
