not even close! Warn and MM are so far better quality until you get into hydro winches then it's a different story! I have an electric Ramsey and it is JUNK!
"The only one's that have MM are mall cruisers............Ramsey not in same league ?.....What are you smokin?"
mall cruisers? are you kidding? have you even looked into a mile marker? what are you smoking? my truck is definatly not a mall cruiser and has pulled numerous times in some bad stucks without fail. yea it's a mall cruiser all right.
Tex, pulling a ricer who high centered on a curb in the mall parking lot doesn't count as bad stuck
Seriously though, I think mm makes a stout winch, second only to warn, and not second by much. I wouldn't hesitate to run a mm winch. I remain firm that Ramsey isn't in the same league as mm and warn though. I Guess (short)Buss is a Ramsey man. Nothing wrong with that, we all have different brand loyalities.

Fishy, how many times have you had your winch worked on now? 'Bout time for a new motor again isn't it?
lol not yet....haven't had a hard pull lately. but i got a spare sitting in the garage! like i saidwhen it works she pulls hard but she hardly works! lol
i am actually looking at a Ramsey right now (Lord help me) it is on a roll-off tow truck that the cab has been removed and the truck is out of service. I haven't asked about price but I wouldn't mind trying it if it is somewhat cheap!
ok i will be in the minority here but i'll tell of an experience had some years back...two winches pulling an abandoned car up a steep hill, one ramsey and and one warn both same #'s....both doing fine until car windshield broke and started scooping into the side of the hill (car upside down). The warn burned up shortly there after. Another vehicle with another warn was attatched and burned up as well....ramsey kept pulling...a third warn was hooked up and the abandoned car made it up the hill, however 3rd warn would not work after that. saw this with my own eyes....this was a few years ago but you never get a second chance to make a first impression.....also I'm in the market for a new winch and spoke to a dealer the other day about ramsey, warn and mile marker, he showed me all the warns he had in pieces waiting on parts for warranty and repairs. he said he has warns come back more than any other winch he sells (he sells them all)....I settled on the milemarker hydrolic....100% duty cycle....just my 2 cents.
Hmm.......Seems to me The Phone co. i worked for back in 1985 used 25,000 #Ramsey electric winches...........In 95' when i bought my Ramsey there was no MM.......... Can't ya geyt a MM 8000# FOR LIKE $400.......
What does everyone think right the hydro vs e-lectric winches? I think hyrdo is great since you can run then under water, but electric you can run if your truck stalls. The question is, how long can you run an electric winch pulling if your truck isn't running? And would you be able to start your truck after you winched like that (say the starter seized in the water or something)?
Guys, Buzz made it quite clear that he rather enjoys being a troll on Pirate, I suggest you just plain 'ol ignore him.
Anyhow, the high dollar Ramseys seem to be ok, but, they tend to be more expensive than Warn's.
Personally, it's Warn or MM all the way... I'm currently looking at a M12000 that the local parts store has on for cheap.
