Vibration

I have started to notice a vibration the last 500 miles or so in the steering wheel and sitting in the truck you can feel it. It is most apparent at cruising speeds on the highway. Might be doing it at city speeds but tough to tell with the crappy roads. It seems you can feel it more with cruise control on rather than during acceleration at the 50-60 mph range. Might be that you can just concentrate more on it with cruise on. Any ideas what it might be?? Also the truck wants to drift to the right on the highway. No unusual noises noted over the engine sound. HELP!!!

Sounds like you lost a wheel weight. Not knowing any maintenance history, a tire rotation and balance might help. Are the tire pressures all to specs? If so an alignment would help. Let us know and good luck!

Tires are about 8,000 miles old. BFG 295/75/16 on a stock rim so pressure is running 52psi in all 4. Tires just rotated......powder balancing in wheels(no wheel weights). Any ideas????

In addtion.....when tires were put on an alignment was done....everything was within tolerances at that time.....no adjustments made. Could alignment get out of whack in the last 8,000 miles with street driving and no accidents, deer, or anything of that sort?

Have the tires checked for balance, moisture can wad up the powder and be very ineffective. Also, check the drive line. A u-joint can cause this problem also. As for your question about alignment, sure can get out of whack. With the road conditions anything is possible. Let us know and good luck.

The driveline should be dropped to check joints properly. Bad u-joints don't always have signs(loose, rust or other visuals) check it out.
