I'd like to find out if this is a possibe fit because of the wiring, i'm to old to be yelling & screaming and/or crying!!! LOL. With 410 grs this thing is torque monster going to put in 354's i think. tks for your time-Art

Least ill have some fun tellin folks ford really never made one like it
There is a tech article (link in upper right corner) about swapping a EFI 5.0 into a 73-79 pickup - an EFI 460 swap would be similar. Might want to look it over to get an idea of what's involved.
I just finished getting a 88 460 running after it had been through an engine fire. It's in a van, but I was able to modify an engine harness for a truck to work. It can be done. A little knowledge abut the fuel injection components would help. But if you have an 88 EFI to start with, you will need to get the intake (upper and lower plenums), wiring, also would be good to go to helms for wiring diagrams if you need to. Get as many parts as you can from the donor vehicle. including the computer.
There may be help in the engine swap forum. You can also find a link to a good fuel injection site in the links section of my FTE webpage. There are also books available from Motor Haven the online store here.
A factory system is the way to go. Millions were made and are trouble free. Parts are all over.
Assembly line monkeys just plugged in the parts and they started. I did it with junk yard parts. You can do it too.
