You have already been too patient in my opinion but the problem is two fold. One, your dealer doesn't know what to do so he hasn't done anything and two, there are no parts to be had in the regular channels of the parts distribution network and your dealer doesn't know how to cut through the red tape. Your dealer is going to have to find someone within the Ford organization who has the authority to get a turbo shipped from our plant or from Garrett to the dealership and he is going to have to know who to call to accomplish that. This will all have to be done through Ford -- we have no authority to circumvent Ford's protocol on this. If the dealership is content to let the system do its job at what ever pace, then you are screwed.
Since you have paid $40,000 for a truck that is usless to you (because the dealer's service department has it), maybe you can convince the general manager of the dealership to give you a loaner vehicle -- NOT a Taurus but a truck as similar to the one you bought as possible. That way the burden of getting your vehicle back to you is on him and you won't care how long it takes as long as you are not denied the use of a like-kind vehicle.

I heard yesterday that Ford has devised a way of manually racking that turbo actuator open then closed several times while the engine is running and it clears up the problem of the sticking actuator. I got that information from our reliability people and they say it is working well (so far).
Dave,
thanks for putting your problem on the forum. I have the same truck but not the problem (knock on wood). I hope they get it fixed soon.
The engine is nice. It has a lot of get up and go and so much quieter than my 7.3 was.
in 2 weeks and we have never seen or driven one. It is going to be 100 miles to diesel dealership that we trust but I now know it will be worth the drive. Hate hearing about the problems. I'm going to copy down the codes you are talking about and maybe we will never have a problem. Ours is a King Ranch and we are looking forward to using it. I don't think I'm going to rush now.
Wow I go away for awhile and the site falls apart, I apparantly did'nt start this thread. Thought it was time for an update anyways. Went to desert ran fine, still running well, scary huh, I've got 1750 on it now so we'll see hopefully if it breaks again they'll know how to troubleshoot it. It's nice to pull everyone up the hills and still get 16MPG diesel is worth it for that alone.
