I just bought a 2003 F250 with the new 6.0 Powerstroke with the news that it would be a little less noisy than the previous 7.2. I find that between the two engines the 6.0 is louderin general and especially at low rpms than the 7.2.
Is the automatic trans. a factor in engine noise?
I am however comparing the new engine with 400 miles on it and the 7.2 with over 20,000.
Does anyone else have any comparisons? What about the initial start? As it cranks over it ends with a loud series of knocks?
Thanks
